Since the 1960s, Düsseldorf and Japan has had a close relationships. Many Japanese corporations have their Europe headquarters in Düsseldorf, and it has the largest Japanese community in Europe. Which is why you can find good Japanese food here. Thanks to worldramen.net, I was able to find Naniwa.
Naniwa has two locations, right across the street from each other. Naniwa Noddles & Soup and Naniwa Sushi & More. I never thought I was able to have authentic Japanese food in Germany, but Naniwa is pretty good. Naniwa not only attracts the Japanese who live in Düsseldorf, but don't be surprised to see the Germans sitting at the table next to you. They love their ramen and sushi just like you and me. The line is usually out the door, even when the weather is bad, people are still willing to wait in the rain.
When I go to any ramen shop for the first time, I always try the shouyu ramen first, and move on the others if I return. The shouyu ramen was quite good, although the soup lack the flavor I was expecting. I proceeded to miso ramen on my second visit, and I was quite impressed. The soup had excellent balance of flavor and wasn't too salty. The noodles were cooked just right. With a side order of kimchi and a glass of alt bier, I was in heaven.
